![]() The 13th Annual Ivory Crockett Run for Webster took place on October 15th, 2016. This was a record year with over 500 participants running the event. The morning began with families gathering in front of Webster Groves High School surrounded by the WGHS Cheerleaders and the WGHS Band. Elementary students from Edgar Road School, Bristol Elementary and Clark Elementary kicked off the event with the singing of our National Anthem. From there, runners took their mark and headed out for the 5k race and 1 mile fun run. Our winner of the 5k race this year was Mark Spewak with a time of 16:58 minutes!!! Families and friends ran or walked the course and lots of volunteers where placed along the route for safety and directions to keep everyone on track. Special thanks goes to Big River Running for helping with race route, registration, and timing. After the 5k and 1 mile fun run were complete, the main event of the 100 yard dash began. Students ages prek – 6th grade each had a chance to see how fast they could There is a new look for the WGSD Foundation website. The Foundation has launched their new website in August of 2016. All registration for events will now be available online. The website will also be utilized as an opportunity to communicate with our community, district and alumni. The purpose of the new website is to have a platform that promoted our mission, was user friendly, highlighted awarded grants and made registration and donations easy for those who visited the site. Updated grant information and assistance with the grant application process still remains available online.
In Spring of 2016 The WGSD Foundation awarded over 12 Major/Alumni Grants totaling more than $40,000. The following schools received grants from the WGSD Foundation: Steger Sixth Grade Center, Hudson Elementary, Avery Elementary, Bristol Elementary Adventure Club, Edgar Road Elementary, Webster Groves High School, Webster Groves High School Special School District, Webster Groves High School Statesmen Preschool, and grants to the Webster Groves School District.
The WGSD Foundation announces their new Executive Board for the 2016-2017 School Year. Travis Snelling – Board President, Joel Oliver – Vice President and Tricia Nieman – Treasurer. Becky Hauser has begun the roll of the Foundation Administrator and Development Coordinator.
Spring for Schools is a local shopping an dining event to raise funds to provide grants that expand dynamic learning opportunities throughout the district. Webster Groves School District Foundation invites you to shop and dine locally on Tuesday, April 28 as the businesses listed below support our schools by donating 20% of their day's sales.
